What Is Kybella?
Kybella® is an FDA-approved treatment that treats submental fullness. Submental fullness is the fat that is stored underneath the chin, sometimes causing a “double chin". Fullness can be a result of genetics, weight gain, or aging. Kybella is composed of a synthetic deoxycholic acid which is naturally found in the body, that works to permanently dissolve fat cells. The Kybella treatment can refresh and reveal a more youthful, contoured appearance. Alternative options may require extensive surgeries, longer recovery times, greater risks, and will not permanently eliminate fat cells.

What To Expect
Ideal candidates for the Kybella treatment should have a moderate to severe fullness under the chin. Candidates should be in good health and have realistic expectations for this procedure. Dr. Moein will meet one-on-one with patients for a comprehensive consultation to further evaluate their candidacy. Dr. Moein will perform an examination of the area of concern. Patients will have the opportunity to discuss their desired aesthetic during this appointment. Dr. Moein will then create a personalized treatment plan. All procedural and recovery details will be discussed with the patient to educate them on the Kybella treatment and recovery process.
Kybella For Double Chin Fat Treatment
The Kybella treatment is administered through injections and can be performed in one or multiple sessions. Each session may take around 20 to 30 minutes. Treatment sessions will vary based on the patient’s needs and Dr. Moein’s expertise. Dr. Moein will strategically place the injections under the chin. Patients may feel slight discomfort pressure during treatment.
